29 as a culminating finale of 2017 Luodong Fringe Festival, event organizer said on Tuesday, urging the public to attend the event in the small town in northeastern Taiwan.

The name of “Luodong,” according to Pingpu Tribe language, means “monkey.” Therefore, money has often been used as the theme for the 16-year-old festival.

Luodong township chief Lin Zi-miao (林姿妙) said that since the opening of this year’s Luodong Fringe Festival on July 15, a series of activities have taken place and preparation for the final grand parade and the preceding smaller-scale parades on the nights of July 26 – 28 has also been going on. The preparation includes artists visiting local communities and civic organizations to help with float, costume and props creation, she added.    [FULL  STORY]
