Taiwan’s Hsieh Su-wei and Flavia Pennetta of Italy crashed out of the quarter-finals of the women’s doubles at the Madrid Open yesterday.
The fourth seeds were beaten 6-4, 6-1 by Casey Dellacqua of Australia and Yaroslava Shvedova of Kazakhstan as their new partnership once again failed to fire.
Hsieh and Pennetta converted just three of nine break-point opportunities, while their opponents converted six of nine to complete the victory in 54 minutes on the clay courts of the Caja Magica. [FULL STORY]
