International and local volunteers helped make the Taipei Universiade possible

are international volunteers who flew to Taiwan from around the world to work shoulder to shoulder with local volunteers. International volunteers said that participating in this global sporting event was a rare experience they couldn’t have gotten in their home country.

Seven volunteers from around the world were invited to attend a press conference on Friday to share their Universiade experience. They were joined by Universiade Student Resources Director Wu Jing-sheng, Resource Application Director Huang Ching-kao and Social Resources Director Wu Kun-hung.

The Taipei Universiade recruited 12,000 student volunteers and 6,000 non-student applicants from Taiwan and overseas. Wearing green uniforms, these volunteers come and go as they do their work at the sporting venues, the Athletes’ Village and the media center.    [FULL  STORY]
