Japanese acting and singing sensation Takuya Kimura arrived in Taiwan Saturday for
his first visit to the island in his 28-year career, attracting some 500 fans who greeted him at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport.
Kimura will stay for four days and feature in a short film promoting tourism in Taiwan directed by Hong Kong director John Woo, a Taiwan Tourism Bureau official said Sunday.
The film, which is to be launched by the bureau, is part of a NT$50 million (US$1.61 million) plan to promote tourism.
The film will be about food and culture in Taiwan and is to be shot over two days, scheduled for release by the end of the year in Japan. Taiwanese fans will be able to see it online, the official added. [FULL STORY]
