Taiwanese-American professional basketball player Jeremy Lin is to miss the rest of the NBA season, the Brooklyn Nets confirmed on Friday after the guard underwent surgery.

Lin ruptured a patella tendon in his right knee when he landed awkwardly during the Nets’ opening game of the season on Wednesday.

The 29-year-old had surgery in New York on Friday, which the Nets deemed successful.

“Lin will miss the remainder of the 2017-2018 season, but is expected to make a full recovery,” the team said on its Web site.    [FULL  STORY]
