Top Taiwanese tennis player Lu Yen-hsun captured his first ATP title in 2016 at the €42,500 Aegon
Surbiton Trophy of the ATP Challenger Tour on Monday after beating Romanian player Marius Copil in the singles final, 7-5, 7-6 (13-11).
Lu’s opponent in the final was a qualifier and No. 176 in the ATP singles ranking before the tournament.
After the win, Lu moved up from No. 97 to No. 78 in this week’s ATP singles ranking.
Lu had an operation in the elbow at the beginning of this year. After taking a few months’ rest, he returned to the tour to play at Seoul Challenger in early May and finished runner-up. [FULL STORY]
