National Defense (MND), calling for student protestors not to take the radical path by way of suicide, but rather through peaceful negotiation to solve their differences in opinion.

Ma urged the Ministry of Education (MOE) to hold talks with the students as soon as possible and try to come to terms with them but all the while under the legal boundaries of the constitution.

His comments came during a press conference at the defense ministry, where the president was taking part in the premiere of a new documentary about the nation’s air force produced by the National Geographic Channel.

Lin Kuan-hua, a student enrolled at the Juang Jing Vocational High School, was found dead in his room early in the morning at 8:30 a.m. Lin apparently locked himself up and took his own life by burning charcoal.     [FULL  STORY]
