The former president will give two addresses on Taiwan-China relations

(TAIPEI) Taiwan – Former Taiwanese President Ma Ying-jeou has departed Taiwan for
the United States, where he will spend several days in California to meet with several associations and give two addresses on the current status of Taiwan-China relations, the Central News Agency reported this morning.
According to CNA, the former president boarded his flight at 7p.m. at Taiwan’s Taoyuan international Airport, bound for Los Angeles. After several planned addresses and private meetings, he is set to return on November 9th.
The highlights of the trip are sure to be his two planned addresses.
The first will take place the afternoon of November 6th at the University of Southern California Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. The university’s Center on Public Diplomacy will be hosting the event ‘A Conversation with Ma Ying-jeou’ where topics will include the role of commerce, exchange, and tourism in forging bonds and easing cross-strait tensions.
