Micron to hire 1,000 in Taiwan, raise starting wage

Base monthly salary for graduate engineers climbs to NT$46,000

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – U.S. electronics giant Micron Technology is set to bolster its presence in Taiwan by recruiting 1,000 new staff next year.

The company will also increase its base monthly wage for graduate engineers with a bachelor’s degree to NT$46,000 (US$1,500), and to NT$50,000 for those with a master’s degree, reported Economic Daily News.

Micron is the largest foreign investor in Taiwan, with the company operating a chip factory in Taoyuan, testing facility in Taichung, and a service and support center in Taipei. The company currently employs over 7,000 people in Taiwan, and is in a period of expansion.

Micron are mainly looking for a wide-variety of specialists in engineering, according to EDN, with the company also seeking hires in research and development, supply chain management, IT, and human resources.    [FULL  STORY]
