A total of 65.5% of office workers in Taiwan are planning to leave their current jobs in the
fourth quarter, citing low salaries and a lack of prospects as the main reasons, according to a survey released Monday by an online job broker.
On average, the workers expect to receive NT$38,272 (US$1,170) per month on average at their new jobs, the survey by yes123.com.tw revealed.
The average salary being offered by companies, however, is NT$30,934 (US$945) per month, a figure that is NT$7,338 (US$224) less than what the workers are expecting, according to the poll.
Only 13.3% of workers are optimistic that the number of job opportunities will increase in the last three months of the year from the previous quarter, while 40.8% think there will be a decrease, and 45.9% do not expect any change. [FULL STORY]
