Paraguay’s Ambassador to Taiwan Marcial Bobadilla Guillén, Commercial Attache at the Embassy 
of Paraguay Macarena Barboza, on Friday visited I-Mei Foods Co, one of Taiwan’s largest food companies and store chains, in which they had received warm welcome from Chairman of I-Mei Foods Henry Kao, and General Manager Luis Ko.
Paraguay is Taiwan’s only diplomatic ally in South America. The two enjoy close and long-standing relationship which has been going on since 1957.
President Tsai Ing-wen back in June embarked on a nine-day trip to Latin America visiting Panama and Paraguay, as the president’s first overseas official visit since taking office on May 20.
During her visit in Paraguay, Tsai had promised to double the number of students to be awarded under Taiwan’s scholarship program to study in Taiwan, and raise imports quotas for beef from the South American country. [FULL STORY]
