Parties, groups reach accord on Constitution plans

A number of political parties and civic groups are in accord on a two-stage constitutional reform that aims to put off the most controversial issues until a second round.

Representatives of more than a dozen groups and political parties yesterday attended the Convention on the Action Plan for Constitutional Reform at the Legislative Yuan in Taipei, which began with speeches by former president Lee Teng-hui (李登輝), the honorary convention convener, and Legislative Speaker Wang Jin-pyng (王金平).     [FULL STORY]
