People planning to travel out of the country from the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport during the Lunar New Year holiday period have been advised to arrive at the airport three hours before their flights’ scheduled departure time.

Due to surging travel demand around the holiday and ongoing anti-terrorism exercises, passengers are urged to arrive early in case of delays, the airport’s management said.

The number of departing passengers could hit 6,000 at the peak time between 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. each day during the holiday, which runs through Feb. 14, according to the airport, which is Taiwan’s main international gateway.

The airport said it expects to handle 128,000 to 146,000 passengers each day during the holiday period.     [FULL  STORY]
