President Tsai Ing-wen is calling for closer trade ties with El Salvador. Tsai was
speaking Monday during a meeting with visiting Salvadorian Public Works Minister Gerson Martinez and his wife. The couple is in Taiwan for a visit, at the invitation of the government.
El Salvador has been actively boosting its economy and promoting infrastructure projects in recent years. Tsai said she hopes the two sides can exchange insights on their experiences.
President Tsai led a delegation to visit El Salvador in January, including delegates from the business sector. Because of Central America’s market potential, Tsai said she hopes there will be more business opportunities for both sides. [FULL STORY]
