Unlike previous iterations of the annual event, the 2017 marathon will be held over two days instead of one to help boost tourism. In addition, a set number of places will be reserved for Kinmen residents, according to the county government.
An 11.2-kilometer race and 5-km fun run will be held on Jan. 14, while the 42.195-km marathon and 21.095-km half marathon will be staged the next day, the county government said.
A total of 6,000 places will be available in the marathon, half marathon and 11.2 km races and another 16,000 in the fun run.
Meanwhile, an additional 1,000 places will be reserved for Kinmen residents, including 200 in the marathon, 600 in the half marathon and 200 in the 11.2-km race, the county government added. [FULL STORY]
