Taipei, Aug. 18 (CNA) Six Taiwanese tourists were among those injured in a huge bomb
explosion in central Bangkok on Monday, Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Tuesday.
At least 22 people were killed and 120 others were wounded at the explosion near the popular Erawan Shrine, according to foreign media reports.
The ministry said the injured people are being treated at 21 hospitals and that the Thai government has set up an emergency response center to deal with the situation.
Taiwan’s representative office in Thailand has sent officials to see the hospitalized Taiwanese nationals and has contacted their families in Taiwan, the ministry said. [FULL STORY]
