Taipei, March 15 (CNA) Taiwan aims to turn the annual Smart City Summit and Expo
into the world’s most comprehensive trade platform next year, organizers said Wednesday.
The 2018 event will bring together more international city officials, including mayors, to share their experiences in the area of smart city development, the organizers said.
According to the Taipei Computer Association (TCA), this year’s event, which ran from Feb. 21-24, had 54 international city officials from 29 countries, the largest number of participants since the event was initiated in 2014.
Smart cities are a crucial field for the application of the Internet-of-Things (IoT), which in turn is vital to the realization of intelligent communities, the TCA said.
