The dual-deck, four-engine jetliner manufactured by Airbus, which is currently the largest passenger airliner in the world, flew in from Dubai, arriving at 4:40pm, with 475 passengers on board, including former Taiwan premier Sean Chen.

Emirates, which launched seven daily flights to Taiwan in February 2014 using Boeing 777 jets, was also the first airline to land an A380 aircraft at Taoyuan Airport near Taipei, which installed two double- decker jet bridges in May to accommodate the ultra-high-capacity aircraft.

Terry Daly, Emirates divisional senior vice president, said on July 17 that the airline is assessing the possibility of using the popular A380 on regular flights to Taiwan.     [FULL  STORY]
