Taipei, July 25 (CNA) The organizing committee of the 2017 Taipei Summer Universiade has received about NT$500 million (US$15.43 million) in non-cash sponsorships from corporations, according to Taipei’s Department of Sports.
Committee chief Su Li-chung (蘇麗瓊) said the city’s goal is to get corporations to contribute NT$890 million worth of products and services to the international sports event, to be held in Taipei in August 2017, and she believed the target should be easily achieved.
Such non-cash sponsorships refer to many different goods and services, the organizing committee said, including donations of sports equipment, such as badminton rackets, discounts on air tickets for foreign athletes coming to Taiwan for the event, and bottled water. [FULL STORY]
