The state-owned Taiwan Power Company (Taipower) plans to implement smart meters and variable electricity prices in order to manage growing demand for electricity.

The Cabinet recently announced a plan to have all new motorcycles on the market be electric powered by 2035, and have all electric cars on sale by 2040. The plan has drawn questions as to whether the national grid will be able to support increased demand for electricity.    [FULL  STORY]
