men’s high jump at the 2015 Asian Athletics Championships in China Sunday, giving Taiwan its first medal in that category at the games.

Hsiang placed second with a jump that cleared the 2.24-meter mark but hit the bar at 2.28 meters.

Takashi Eto of Japan also failed to clear the bar at 2.28-meters, but took the gold medal because he had fewer failed attempts than Hsiang throughout the competition.
