Taiwan bags 1 gold, 3 silver, 2 bronze medals at Youth Olympics

Buenos Aires, Oct. 17 (CNA) Taiwan athletes will bring home one gold, three silver and two bronze medals from the 2018 Youth Olympic Games, which concludes Thursday in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The team of 59 athletes competed in 19 sports over the past two weeks and finished with a medal count of six, winning their only gold in a judo mixed team competition.

Liu Li-ling (劉俐伶), who was part of the judo mixed Beijing team in the 78 kilogram category, won the gold after defeating Rose Christie Pretorius of the mixed Athens team 4-3 in the final on Oct. 10.

Also Oct. 10, Chen Yi-tung (陳弈通), a member of the mixed continental Asia-Oceania 1 fencing team, took a silver medal in the final against Armand Spichiger of the Europe 1 team, which ended 28-25.    [FULL  STORY]
