Taipei, Aug. 19 (CNA) A team of 13- and 14-year-old Taiwanese pounded out four home
runs to defeat Puerto Rico 12-5 in the 2015 Junior League Baseball World Series in Michigan on Tuesday to virtually secure a spot in the international group final.
The win was Taiwan’s second straight in the five-team international division, after defeating the Latin American representative from Panama 9-2 in its tournament opener on Sunday.
Much like that game in which Taiwan broke a tight game open with seven runs in the final two innings, the team from Taichung was tied with Puerto Rico 3-3 after four innings before erupting for four runs in the fifth and five in the sixth to clinch victory. [FULL STORY]
