Taipei, Nov. 12 (CNA) Chinese Taipei was edged by Canada in an opening round match of the World Baseball Softball Confederation’s (WBSC’s) Premier 12 in Taichung, central Taiwan, Thursday, bringing it record to one win against two losses.
The Taiwanese nine scored two runs in the second inning, allowing them to take a temporary lead until the fourth inning, when the Canadian baseball added three more runs to their first one got in the third inning and led all the way on to the end of the game.
The Canadians had total of 13 hits, including two homers, compared to 12 hits, including three homers by the Taiwanese.
The Chinese Taipei missed its best chance to turn around the result in the bottom of the sixth inning. After getting one more run to trail at 7-5. the Taiwanese failed to score any more in the inning with all bases loaded and no outs. [FULL STORY]
