Taiwan farm products well received in Japan

food and beverage expo in Japan took home orders worth billions of Taiwan dollars.

COA Minister Chen Chi-Chung (陳吉仲), who led the delegation to Tokyo from March 5-7, witnessed the signing of two trade deals between Taiwanese and Japanese companies.

One of the documents was a contract for Wismettac Group of Japan to purchase 9,000 tons of bananas from Taiwan over a three year period worth NT$430 million (US$13.85 million).

The second deal was a memorandum of understanding between Taiwanese company Mitagri and Japan’s Funasho Shoji Group which aims to increase exports of bananas to Japan from 600 tons to 1,000 tons    [FULL  STORY]
