Taiwan finishes 12th in Deaflympics medal table

Taipei, July 31 (CNA) Taiwan finished 12th in the official medals table at the just concluded 23rd Summer Deaflympics in Turkey, but won the ninth most medals of any competing country.

Taiwan won four gold, five silver, and eight bronze medals during the competition, held from July 18 to 30 in Samsun.

According to the official medals table, which ranks countries by gold medals first, then silver and bronze, Taiwan, Belarus and Germany were tied for 11th with four gold medals each.

But Belarus placed 11th in the medal standings because it won nine silvers to Taiwan and Germany’s five, and Taiwan took 12th based on its eight bronzes to Germany’s three.    [FULL  STORY]
