Taiwan wins gold in women’s trap shooting at Universiade in Italy

Taipei, July 5 (CNA) Taiwanese Liu Wan-yu (劉宛渝) captured Taiwan's first gold medal at the 2019 Summer Universiade in Naples, Italy, on Friday when she won the women's trap shooting event.

Liu, a student at National Chiayi University, represented the country at both the Asian Games in Indonesia last year and the 2013 Summer Universiade in Kazan, Russia.

In the final of the event, the Taiwanese beat Italian Rossi Fiammetta 39-35 to grab gold, the first Taiwan has ever won in the event at a Universiade.    [FULL  STORY]
