Taiwanese duo into semifinals at World Badminton Championships

Takuto Inoue and Yuki Kaneko from Japan on Friday to advance to the men’s doubles semifinals at the 2018 Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Championships in Nanjing, China.

The Taiwanese pair, ranked 15th in the world, defeated their seventh-ranked opponents 21-11, 17-21, 21-13 in one hour and nine minutes.

They reached the quarterfinals by upsetting third seeds Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogenson of Denmark 21-19, 21-10 on Thursday, and will face the fifth-seeded Japanese duo Takeshi Kamura and Keigo Sonoda on Saturday for a spot in the final.

The Japanese reached the semifinals after knocking off the top-seeded Indonesian duo of Marcus Fernaldi Gideon and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo 21-19, 21-12.
