Taipei, Oct. 16 (CNA) Taiwanese pool player Cheng Yu-hsuan (鄭喻軒) won the CBSA International 9-Ball championship in Miyun, Beijing on Friday, defeating his counterpart Wu Jiaqing (吳珈慶) 13-8 in the final round.
Ranked 29th at the World Pool-billiard Association, Cheng hoisted the trophy for the first time in the international tournament and secured the winner’s prize check of around NT$ 1 million (US$31,000).
Cheng, who said he had never defeated Wu in the past, found himself falling behind his opponent 1-5 initially in the competition. He quickly gathered himself, clawing his way back to 4-5 to force Wu to call for a timeout. Cheng then advanced untouchable, leading Wu for the first time in the game 10-7 and never letting him get the chance to fight back. [FULL STORY]
