Taipei, Dec. 21 (CNA) Taiwanese weightlifter Kuo Hsing-chun (郭婞淳) snagged three
gold medals Friday at the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) 5th International Qatar Cup, a qualifying competition for the 2020 Olympic Games.
Kuo, 25, won a gold medal with a snatch lift of 103 kilograms in the women’s 59 kg division, a second gold with a clean and jerk of 130 kg. and a final gold for the combined lift of 233 kg.
It was the first time she had won both the snatch and clean and jerk lifts in any competition.
Kuo said the second half of this year has been difficult for her because of her intense training regimen prior to the Qatar Cup in Doha, and she thanked her coach for his encouragement and moral support at the event. [FULL STORY]
