The 25-year-old Chen lifted 193 kg in the snatch and 245 kg in the clean and jerk to win gold in the weight category with a combined lift of 438 kg, 24 kg more than runner-up Bahador Molaei of Iran.

Chen also won a gold medal for his lift in the clean and jerk and took silver for his snatch lift, in which he finished tied with Ivan Efremov of Uzbekistan but finished second because of his heavier body weight.

Taiwan’s only other medalist in the championships, held from Sept. 3 to 12, was Yao Chi-ling, who took silver in the snatch, clean and jerk, and combined lift in the women’s under-75 kg weight class, behind Wang Zhouyu of China.     [FULL  STORY]
