EpiSonica designs ultrasound 3D breast tissue image scanner for women with dense breasts

TAIPEI (Taiwan News)— Hsinchu-based EpiSonica (振磬科技) displayed an automatic
ultrasound technology based 3D breast tissue image scanner at Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) press conference in Taipei, Tuesday.
Breast cancer mortality rates remain high in Taiwan, with the disease ranked as the fourth deadliest type of cancer among women in 2015, claiming 1.82 million lives nationwide, according to latest statistics compiled by The Ministry of Health and Welfare.
The Automated Whole Breast Ultrasound Tomography (iABUS) was designed specifically to meet the medical imaging needs of Asian women’s dense breast tissue, said company CEO Jimmy Chang (張尊民). [FULL STORY]
