Taipei, July 7 (CNA) A Taiwanese Little League team from Taipei fell 6-1 to a team from South Korea on Friday in the final of the Asia-Pacific Regional Tournament, missing out on a chance to play in the Little League World Series in Williamsport next month.
The Tung Yuan Little League team, which represented the Asia-Pacific region in the 2015 World Series, had lost to the Koreans 12-0 in a preliminary round game in the tournament on July 1 and was hoping to get their revenge in the final.
The South Koreans took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second, taking advantage of a walk and error to open the scoring.
Taiwan put together a string of hits to tie the game in the top of the fourth, but its bullpen struggled in the bottom of the inning. [FULL STORY]
