Taiwan’s Lu Yen-hsun qualifies for Olympics

Taipei, June 18 (CNA) Taiwan’s top-ranked male tennis player Lu Yen-hsun (盧彥勳) has qualified

for the upcoming Rio Olympic Games, the Chinese Taipei Tennis Association said Saturday.

The association said in a statement that it had received confirmation from the International Tennis Federation (ITF) that Lu has qualified for the men’s singles tennis tournament at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

If Lu plays in Rio in August, it will be his fourth consecutive appearance in the Olympic tennis event.

Lu improved his ATP ranking to the 78th on June 13 after winning the grass-court Surbiton Challenger in the United Kingdom, his first title of the year.     [FULL  STORY]
