Tien-chen (周天成) advanced respectively to the women’s and men’s singles semifinals of the 2018 Indonesia Masters on Friday.

The world’s top-ranked Tai knocked out fifth seed Sung Ji Hyun of South Korea 21-11, 21-8 in just 29 minutes, setting up a battle with eighth seed He Bingjiao of China.

Friday’s performance was Tai’s eighth consecutive win over Sung dating back to December 2016, and improved her lifetime mark against the South Korean to 17-9.

Tai opened up a 10-4 lead in the first game, and Sung would never get closer than four points the rest of the way. The second game was even more one-sided, with Tai running off 13 straight points to take a 16-3 lead before closing out the match.   [FULL  STORY]
