Taipei, Sept. 27 (CNA) Taiwan's Tai Tzu-ying (戴資穎), Chou Tien-chen (周天成) and Wang Tzu-wei (王子維) kept their hopes of winning the Korea Open badminton title alive by defeating their opponents and advancing to the semifinals in Incheon on Friday.
World No. 1 Tai won a close match against Gregoria Mariska Tunjung of Indonesia to advance to the women's singles semifinals.
Tai beat Tungjung 24-22, 22-20 in 32 minutes, and next faces world No. 6 Ratchanok Intanon for a spot in the final.
Meanwhile, world No. 2 Chou, who is seeded third in the tournament, beat Shesar Hiren Rhustavito of Indonesia 21-18, 21-9 in the men's singles quarterfinals. [FULL STORY]
