Taipei, April 30 (CNA) Taiwanese Tai Tzu-ying (戴資穎) has been listed at the top of the
Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings in the women’s singles category for a record 125 weeks, the latest list showed Tuesday.
Tai has now made history, breaking the record held by Chinese female shuttler Li Xuerui, who was No. 1 in the BWF’s world rankings for 124 weeks.
Earlier this month, Tai won her first title of the season at the Malaysia Open in Kuala Lumpur, defending the championship for the third consecutive year.
Following her win in Malaysia, she clinched the women’s singles title at the 2019 Singapore Open April 9-14. [FULL STORY]
