Taiwan’s Tai Tzu-ying reaches semi-finals at Indonesia Open

Taipei, July 6 (CNA) World No. 1 Tai Tzu-ying (戴資穎) got the better of Scotland’s Kirsty Gilmour to move into the semifinals of the women’s singles of BLIBLI Indonesia Open 2018 in Jakarta on Friday.

Tai comfortably defeated the world No. 28 Gilmour 21-16, 21-11 in 31 minutes.

She will next play 8th-seeded He Bingjiao of China, who defeated third-seeded Pusarla V. Sindhu 21-14, 21-15 on Friday.

The Indonesia Open, which has prize money of US$1.25 million, is an HSBC BWF World Tour Super 1000 tournament, one of only three Super 1000 level tournaments this year. The other two are the China Open and the All England.    [FULL  STORY]
