Taipei, August 3 (CNA) Taiwanese golfer Teresa Lu (盧曉晴) shot a disappointing 2-over par
74 in the final round of the RICOH Women’s British Open on Sunday, but her sixth place finish was still the best of her career in any major tournament.
Lu entered the final round of the British Open tied for the lead at 8-under-par with Jin Young Ko of South Korea, but dropped three shots on the first two holes with a double bogey and bogey and never recovered, held back especially by an uncooperative putter.
The Japan LPGA Tour regular hit 14 of 18 greens in regulation but needed an unusually high 34 putts to get around the course, including a short par putt miss on the par-4 15th that pretty much sealed her fate. [FULL STORY]
