President Tsai Ing-wen has promised to do more for the well-being of the country’s
police officers. Tsai was speaking Friday, which marks Police Day in Taiwan.
At a ceremony to honor 28 model police officers, Tsai expressed her appreciation.
“On behalf of the public, I want to say thank you. Thank you for your around-the-clock service to protect our society, so that we have a stable society and the people are able to live free from worry,” said Tsai.
The president also promised to upgrade police equipment, raise salaries, and assist officers’ well-being, both physically and mentally. [FULL STORY]
