Two Taiwanese golfers inducted into Japanese Golf Hall of Fame

professional women’s golf tour, and the late Chin Sei-sui (陳清水), who played on the men’s tour in Japan in the years prior to World War II, have been inducted into the Japanese Golf Hall of Fame.

Tu, 62, became the first Taiwanese female golfer to have received the honor because of her outstanding career on the Japan Ladies Professional Golf Association’s (JLPGA) tour.

Tu won 79 times on the JLPGA tour between 1974 and 2002, and she led the tour in earnings seven times, in 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1989 and 1991.

She was also the first Taiwanese female golfer to win a title on the United States LPGA tour when she captured the 1986 Mazda Japan Classic, which was co-sanctioned by the JLPGA.
