schedule for flights between Taiwan and Japan on Tuesday because of Typhoon Goni, which was pounding Okinawa on Monday afternoon before heading toward Kyushu.

China Airlines said flights CI116/117 between Taoyuan and Fukuoka — home to the biggest airport in Kyushu — and flight CI111 from Fukuoka to Taiwan, will be delayed to later in the day.

CI116 will leave at 4:50 p.m. from Taiwan, CI117 will leave at 9 p.m. from Japan, and CI111 will leave at 9:30 p.m. from Japan.

Typhoon Goni is expected to be over Kyushu on Tuesday morning and then head out to sea in the afternoon, according to Central Weather Bureau projections.     [FULL  STORY]
