TAIPEI (Taiwan News)—Warning announcement came on Saturday from the Central
Weather Bureau for residential areas close to the coastal regions to watch out and be prepared for strong winds as Typhoon Lan moves closer to Taiwan on its way to Japan.
The winds’ intensity can be strong and waves of 5-7 meters high can be formed around the country’s north and northeastern waters, reported the bureau.
The typhoon which is moving towards Japan will be closest to Taiwan on Saturday and Sunday.
According to the CWB data, as of 9 a.m. Saturday, Typhoon Lan was located around 1,000 km east-southeast of Taipei moving towards the south of Japan. [FULL STORY]
