the United States– the U.S. Global Entry program and the Taiwan e-Gate program– went into effect Wednesday.

The U.S. Global Entry allows Taiwanese passport holders to expedite their entry into the States, while travelers from the U.S. are able to use e-Gates at airports in Taiwan for faster immigration clearance.

The American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) posted a video on its Facebook page Wednesday in celebration of the milestone in bilateral relations.

In the video, AIT Director Kin W. Moy and Taiwan’s Interior Minister Yeh Jiunn-rong (葉俊榮) both expressed excitement over the launch of the traveler programs that will benefit not only frequent travelers to the States, but also eligible Taiwan passport holders visiting U.S.    [FULL  STORY]
