Uganda’s Universiade participation in limbo: Foreign ministry

The foreign ministry says it remains undecided whether Ugandan athletes will take part in the upcoming 2017 Universiade in Taipei. That’s the word from foreign ministry spokeswoman Eleanor Wang on Tuesday.

Wang said the Ugandan team is still working to get government approval to attend the world student games set to kick off on Saturday.

The delegation has already registered with the event organizer and hopes to send 48 athletes to compete in five categories, including basketball and track and field events.     [FULL  STORY]
