The second-placed Uni-President Lions evened their three-game series against
the Lamigo Monkeys at one win apiece with a 5-3 triumph on the road over their archrivals at the Taoyuan International Baseball Stadium last night.
The victory also brought the Cats to within 2-1/2 games of the top-ranked Chinatrust Brothers, who lost their contest against the EDA Rhinos to miss an opportunity to add to their lead.
Liu Fu-hao’s two-run blast off Lamigo starter Cesar Valdez jumpstarted a sluggish Lion offense that was held scoreless after four innings to turn a 0-1 deficit into a 2-1 advantage in the top of the fifth. [FULL STORY]
