Taipei, April 27 (CNA) The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has appointed
Taiwanese Wu Ching-kuo (吳經國) to serve another term as Chair of the Culture and Olympic Heritage Commission and coordinator for the XXIV Olympic Winter Games Beijing in 2022.
Both nominations were officially announced by IOC President Thomas Bach on April 18.
Wu, who has been a member of the IOC Executive Board since 2012, is also the president of the International Boxing Association (AIBA) which is headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland.
He said his goals are to actively promote Olympic activities, maintain an international space for the participation of Taiwanese athletes and look out for Taiwan’s interests in the international sports arena. [FULL STORY]
