Chiang greeted the crowd at Kauffman Stadium, the home field of the Kansas City Royals ahead of their game against the Baltimore Orioles. He waved the Taiwanese flag as he made his way to the pitcher’s mound. The crowd then gave him a warm round of applause after his pitch. The entire process was broadcast live on Chiang’s Facebook page.

Chiang’s appearance at the baseball game is part of an ongoing trip to Leawood, Kansas, which has been a sister city of Yilan since 1988. He’s there on the invitation of Leawood Mayor Peggy Dunn.
