“We are going to hand them over to the Peoples Republic of Chinas police today, as soon as we finish all administrative procedures,” Chief of the Bali Provincial Police Inspector General Ronny Sompie stated here Monday.

The Indonesian police, he noted, are not handling the case because the suspects carried out their criminal activities outside the archipelago.

Taiwan’s top ten most-wanted fugitives, broke out in flames following a severe explosion Monday.

Reports in China said that the explosion occurred at about 7 p.m., with local residents located 50 km away from the site saying that they could feel the shock from the blast.

The blast has caused roof collapses of nearby residences, and plumes of flames continued to rise from the factory Monday evening.

Local authorities have yet to verify casualties and property damage from the incident.     [FULL  STORY]

that authorities failed to mention that there were an additional six people — all foreign nationals — in the group that made an unauthorized visit to the ROC Army’s 601st Aviation Brigade in Taoyuan on March 29.

Last Friday, the Army announced that a total of 20 visitors, including TV celebrity Janet Lee and her husband, had been invited to the base to see the ROC Army’s attack helicopter squadron by Lt Col Lao Nai-cheng, who did not have approval from his superiors. During the tour, the pilot gave his guests access to a hangar that houses AH-64E Apaches, Taiwan’s most advanced chopper, even allowing them to board one of the helicopters and take photos. The earthquake was centered 12.9 kilometers northwest of the Hualien County Hall and struck at a depth of 22.2 km, the bureau’s Seismology Center said.

The strongest tremor, which registered a 3 on Taiwan’s 1-7 intensity scale, was felt in Hualien County’s Tongmen and Yilan County’s Nanshan, the center said.

There were no immediate reports of damage from the earthquake.
