Men’s 4×400 relay team set new national record at college games

Taipei, May 10 (CNA) The men’s 4x400m relay team from National Taiwan University of Sports created a new national record Wednesday, clocking 3 minutes, 07.29 seconds at the National Intercollegiate Athletic Games in Taipei.

The team, comprising Yu Chia-hsuan (余嘉軒), Wang Wei-hsu (王偉旭), Yu Chen-yih (余晨逸) and Chen Chieh (陳傑), broke the record of 3:07.61 set by Taiwan’s national team at the 1998 Asian Games in Bangkok, Thailand.

A United States team, composed of Andrew Valmon, Quincy Watts, Butch Reynolds and Michael Johnson, created the current men’s 4x400m outdoor world record on Aug. 22, 1993 at a track and athletics event in Stuttgart, Germany, clocking 2:54.29, according to the International Association of Athletics Federations.   [FULL  STORY]
